Statistical Calculators Support Trial Design and Analysis
Through collaboration between biostatisticians at SWOG and CRAB, we have developed calculators to address statistical needs such as clinical trial design, probability distributions, expected number of events for a given timeframe and exact confidence interval generation. Sample size requirements can be quickly derived for specified levels of error (Type 1 and Type 2) for one-sample and two-sample designs. Alternatively, for a given sample size and alpha-level, statistical power can be readily calculated.
The calculators support designs with binomial, continuous and time-to-event endpoints. Non-inferiority designs for time-to-event endpoints are also available.
Our tools have been used for many years in support the design of SWOG trials and other investigator-initiated and registration trials.
